The Bullitt is in San Diego

I went down to see the "original" Bullitt Mustang, the recently-rediscovered car which has been hiding out in NJ and Tennessee for 40+ years and now is making a tour of the US at the 50th anniversary of the movie. It's said to be the most intact of those used in the filming.

(Sorry, that's not the "original" Steve McQueen)

Ford, jumping with delight on this bandwagon, has released a 2019 Mustang Bullitt model. Jay Leno was the first to drive them together - see the YouTube link at the end of this post

I met briefly with Sean Kiernan, the owner of the car. He's doing this publicity tour to raise money for research into Parkinson's (which his dad Bob suffered from).

Your intrepid reporter "behind the ropes" for a shot of the crowd

This black Charger is probably the only one left not destroyed in either this movie or the hundreds of Dukes of Hazzard TV episodes. It is only there as companion to the Mustang and not involved in the actual film.

As with many of these events, the cars outside were as interesting as those inside.

Heavily biased parking lot was not ALL Mustangs...
