Why Is a Restaurant Like a Top Watch Brand? Mkii

Trying again!

Two years ago I went to a top restaurant to celebrate a significant anniversary. The food was excellent but the service was sloppy and slow, irritatingly so. By nature I am not a complainer but the celebration had been diminished by the service. I decided to take the matter up with the restaurant manager.
He received my complaint with understanding and courtesy and said something I had never thought of before...." the service should be as good as the food"..... Wow! He then offered us a free re-run of the celebration, with wine included. Woof woof!!

Okay, hold that idea..."the service should be equal to the quality"....

In 2003 I saw and fell in love with the Chopard Steel Wings Tourbillon Sincere Edition. At the time it was far more than I should have spent, but love is love.

When I received it  I quickly discovered that it was gaining too much. I had heard stories of brands taking many months to do any service. I did not want to be parted from my new watch so was torn about what to do.
In the end I spoke to their service manager and explained my fears. His response was a breath of fresh air. This was a new product and they wanted to root out any problems as quickly as possible.
He promised to give it top priority and have it back in my hands within a month of drop off.
Three weeks later it came back, but the problem was still there. Eek!!

Then I phoned to speak to the MD,,, yup, little did I know,,, I spoke to KFS, who was not only polite, friendly, open etc but also determined to get it fixed. It took two further attempts, each one being three weeks, to find and fix the problem.
The honesty and open attitude that team Chopard showed, along with the excellent communications won me over. A great watch matched by outstanding service, committment and good humour in what could have been an unpleasant situation.
I am not a big spender or influencer but still they cared.

Now do you see why a top watch brand can be like a top restaurant?
Top quality product backed up by incredible service.

Let's move forward to three months ago. When winding it up the crown strarted to come out. Okay I thought, the watch is almost an antique at 18 years old and, much like myself, falling apart.
I took it into the Chopard Flagship Boutique in London. (highly recommended, lovely surroundings, friendly welcoming staff who have all the time in the world for you)
I expected to pay.

A few days later I received a letter from KFS,,,the man himself! He noted that they had received my watch for rectification and he, personally, would oversee it, oh, and purely BTW, FOC!
What? What??!!
This is an 18 year old watch and they are still interested and concerned.
As I said before in the big world I have no influence, don't spend a lot or often but here is a 'big fish' taking the time to look after me.

In all my years I have never experienced this level of commmittment and service on any product, of any type, that I have bought.

Now, do you see? The quality of the product and the service are at the same level

Thank you KFS and team Chopard!!

As it is a nice sunny day I thought I'd snap some pics of my lovely QFs. I hope that you like them.
