Chopard

Just to share my experience. Got my EoT about  2.5 months ago. 

After two weeks of usage of the watch, I noticed that the watch was not realising its 60 hours of power reserve and needed more frequent windings. When I first bought the watch, I observed  that the power reserve  indicator didn't drop to zero but stopped just at the R mark. Initially I thought it was designed to stop at R. So I tested the watch and yes the stoppage at the R mark prevented the release of the last 7.5 hours stored up. But I must say the power reserve indicator is very accurate; every quarter drop of the power reserve yielded exactly 15 hours of running time. 

To recitify this problem, it  just needed a phone call to my watch dealer. He called me back the next day after speaking with the Chopard service center and confirmed that the Power Reserve indicator should hit Zero, like a car's fuel gauge. He gave me the news that Chopard would do a one for one replacement. All this was done over the phone without me having to bring the watch down at all. That was all it took to settle it!

This problem happens to other watch brands and is not unique to Chopard. And I would dare say that there is no brand of Mechanical watch that is not without its failure or faults, especially with new movements. But what makes me pleased and very happy is that it was settled quickly and I needn't go down to the service center and go through the hassle of sending in the watch(in some cases repeat visits) and dealing with the fault and haggling with service center staffs. If  you haven't experienced it yourself, you would have most probably read about someone else's experience on the forums.

Anyway after 7 weeks, my new watch is finally here. I figure it must have been transferred from a boutique somewhere else in the world because it's Limited edition number is a single digit. But the strap is completely new and the watch looks unmolested.
