Dear Purists,
first of all let me apologize for being inactive on the forum for such a long time.
Today, I'd like to tell you about a problem with my PuristSPro ABR and how it was solved, by a local watchmaker.
I've experienced since the beginning that my watch had a very short power reserve, as I've already written in my review posted on September 29th, 2014. This problem became even worst, time after time, until the watch definitely stopped running, some days ago.
Keep it to the watchmaker, he immediately found that the watch was fully wound, with apparently no problems on the barrel side. Similarly, the entire wheel train looked in good conditions, so he could say that the movement had never suffered any shock. Then, he had to make some research.
After a few days, the original cause of the problem was found. My watch's dial had a slight flaw that affected the perfect alignment of the cannon pinion. If, at the beginning, this probably caused a minor friction, during time it ended up running the hands on a sloped level, or even on an elliptical plan. Not a big problem for the hours hand and the minutes one, but a big issue for the seconds hands. At the end, when the watch finally stopped, two of the four seconds hands was touching the crystal every 30 seconds. My watchmaker also explained me that the seconds hand design particularly magnified the problem, since with a one-hand design the friction with the crystal inner surface would have been only once every minute.
Now, my watch has been cleaned, it has a new cannon pinion and the modified dial offer good space for it. Fortunately, the seconds hands didn't suffered too much and the crystal doesn't have any sign. And I can happily enjoy it!

Thank you for reading, ciao,
Elio
