I was fortunate to meet this Journe collector in person
During dinner he was very happy to share just how grateful he was that he was wearing this exact watch on the day of his motorcycle accident. He firmly believes that this watch saved his hand in that accident and is forever grateful that he’d chosen to wear the Elegante that day. I can tell you he is a passionate Journe collector, and how the company treated him when they heard his story further grew his love for the brand.

I find watches (and cars) far more interesting when they have lived life, built up a history and the patina that goes with it. This watch is now a piece of art as much as it is a timepiece.

I have unfortunately seen watches that have suffered a motorcycle crash and this is generally what it looks like. Glad that the individual still has his hand!
Yes, crashing on a motorcycle can be a very serious thing.
