I had to own the yellow strap after visiting Gino
At his shop the famous Ginotti. He was wearing this exact combination and it was hot as as hell that day. Even if he was clearly not well at that point he looked so cool with this watch and I knew I just had to have it. I’m nor sure I wear it as well as he did but it carries the spirit of summer and taking it all lightly. The combination has since become my little ode to the tour.
It sounds like we have very similar childhood memories Jay. The tour will forever represent summertime and it will never be summer without it. I was of course cheering for the danish riders of the time like Bjarne Riis, the lovely Brian Holm, Jesper Skiby who could always make you laugh and Rolf Sørensen.
