While I do prefer FPJ in general, in this case it‘s the ALS for me as well.
The dial is much more balanced, I like the big date window on the Lange 1 much better and I can‘t really find anything that needs improvement on the Lange 1 moonphase. It‘s just a perfect implementation and so the Journe falls off compared to it while still being a great watch itself.

More pop with the moonphase and you can see not a lot of empty dial space. The Journe seems like its lacking something (owing to the empty dial space)
The Journe is more whimsical but the Lange is so perfectly designed.
I prefer the Lange. Controversial opinion, but I would not consider the Journe a well-designed piece.

So we look at bit deeper… The Octa was designed as a base movement (automatic) with the asymmetrical layout so that it could give space to integrate different complications in to the same movement and avoid stacking. As FP says. “I don’t make hamburgers.”...
