I also wonder about making an additional custom-made display caseback. It’s been done for before for Minerva pieces and such.

Being on a strap, in this heat and humidity, isn’t conducive to wearing it. And it’s on the dressy side for a chronograph. It needed winding today so I put it on and now I’m having trouble taking it off. Happy Monday. ...

It’s indeed a well thought out number. Gino Macaluso designed it when he owned GP. He does not get the recognition he really deserves.

Girard Perregaux pieces i feel, are very underrated. Especially from the Macaluso era. They are good value buys in the used market. Rishi 2598, in champagne dial 4930, 36mm in rose gold ...

It has a closed case back, so no movement shot. And yes, the brand is and was underrated. Macaluso presided over a golden era for GP. Only a few people seem to know that. ...

I think we all gravitate toward exhibition case backs these days.
Ever since they became popular they’ve become even more popular. Sometimes it’s better not to show a movement. And I think GP has/had a way of making their solid casebacks look very attractive. Whether through engraving, or brushing-which this one has bot...

GP had a policy during the macaluso era … all non in-house calibres has a solid caseback. (I personally this this policy was a mistake) They wanted to only show their own calibres. So this is where some have considered custom made exhibition casebacks. 🤝 ...
