Michael, it is ironic that you write this review today
as I just bought a rose gold senator chronometer today while in New York. I have loved this watch ever since I first saw it in pictures and it was even better live which led to my purchase. I agree with everything you have said about the watch. I am always trying to synch the minute and second hand of my other watches even when they don't have a stop second function so I love how easy this watch does it. I only have one other watch with a hand wound movement. The beauty of the finish and the technical merits of this movement just blows me away. I love how the dial mirrors the marine chronometer design and the matte off white finish is perfect. I like the date being present. It does affect the dial balance but the large panorama date is a signature Glashutte detail which outweighs any effect on dial balance IMO. Also, the date is very tightly framed as you have said which lessons any impact to the dial design. I have the same issue with the strap. I have to wear the watch on the tightest setting and it is still loose. I am going to punch another hole for a tighter fit rather than buy another strap. Anyway, after less than one day I share your enthusiasm. I think compared to other brands it is incredibly priced for what it offers. Thanks for the in depth review for which I am in total agreement as a biased reader

Very nice watch and review, Michael. I am similar to others who respect the chronometer ethos, in that I love what GO did with the movement hand synchronization and time setting. I am interested to know your techniques for 'fidgeting' the AP's. I also syn...

On the JLC based movement Offshores (caliber 2326), I pull the crown at 0 seconds and set the minute hand pretty much exactly between 2 minute markers. I then make sure to reverse the crown and so the pressure is not forward. There is a window of play the...

Funny as I could have written the 1st sentences. I also particularly like Marine chronometers, for the accuracy goals and the type of design. And concerning GO, this is my favorite timepiece, and I think my favorite Marine chronometer above the UN or the ...
Thank you Mark.

I honestly had intentions of this review for over a year, but never found the window of time I needed to complete it. I write best when I go straight through and keep my thoughts organized, so I had to do it all at once.
Great review!

I have enjoyed this watch as well since Dec 2009. It remains one of my favorites. My only gripe is that my wrist is really too small to absorb the 42mm case. Much better for me would be 38mm. Thanks for your great review. Marc

... thank you, Michael! This particular model has been wandering in my head since its debut a few years ago. At one time, I even placed an order - but canceled due to totally irrelevant financial reason. I am still on the fence - the size! I totally agree...
Congratulations Stewart!

And welcome to the SC Club ;-) I find on some watches when you are on the tightest hole the clasp uncomfortably rides up one side of the wrist. Maybe see if the dealer can help you with a short strap? I look forward to some pictures of the rose gold versi...
Well thought review, Michael!

I was lucky enough to try this watch on several weeks ago and agree with you about its beauty, especially the silver grained dial. What I could not discern, especially from the quick time on my wrist, was the watch's many incredible technical features, pa...

First, I have to admit a total bias in favor of this watch. I loved it upon release and it remains, in my mind, one of the best offerings from GO. It's just a classy timepiece. It showcases elements that I personally look for in a watch that should stand ...

A great review of a fantastic watch! Love the setting mechanism of this watch; zero-reset, minute notching. A great way to get the time set correctly. Really wanted to know more about the clasp and the overall comfort of this watch, along with how the sti...
The comfort is superb.

On my wrist I credit that in part to the "short" strap. When I first wore it, being on the tightest hole made the clasp ride up to the side of the wrist. Now it is on the third hole or so and the clasp centers better. The strap is reinforced where it atta...

Great review on a very understated and beautiful GO. Thanks for the real world insight into this great beauty of a watch. I've yet to be able to see and try one on in the flesh, but am motivated now to double my efforts in checking it out. Thanks for this...

The precise minute hand advancement throughout each minute is a great feature whcih only us watch geeks can appreciate IMO :) And regarding the long length of the standard strap, I've noticed in the past on the new GO watches that I try on at Tourbillon, ...
