Especially having spoken with Hermes representatives, I learnt quite a lot about its mechanical watches. Sure, its primary focus was on ladies quartz. If I haven't noticed the le Temps Suspendu, I probably wouldn't have stepped into the boutique to enquir... 

May I ask, why you think so? Are they not serious enough, not known for their watches, show some flaws ...? Is it just a feeling you have? I am curious, because I have the same feeling and find it difficult to describe. Maybe it is just a lack of experien... 

.. I'm not taking them seriously enough to invest that amount of money with, on their mechanical watches... Please don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Hermes myself. The way I see Hermes, is the epitome of handcrafted leather goods. For their leather go... 

It is the same for me towards Montblanc watches. Some of the recent pieces are great e.g. TwinFly. But I keep associating the brand with fountain pens, though it also has leather products and jewelry, that are priced on the higher side in my personal opin... 

Well, who expects them to be perfect in everything they do?! Too many companies/groups try to please everybody with everything these days, just because of the (quick) money. At the end ot the day the customers decide with their purchases and quite often I...

and did never regret to spend my money on one of their leather goods. Most of their textiles (silk, wool ...) are great as well. Never spend my money on their table ware ... ;-) Their creativity in general and their passion for craftsmanship is outstandin...  

Thanks for reminding me about the La Maison books!! I've actually pre-ordered them on Amazon.com and then the release somehow got cancelled/post-poned and it went to the back of my mind! Now you remind me I should be hunting for a set of these books too! ...
