Come on, A watch company needs nothing else just make watches, and law enforcement should enforce the law.
Actually, Rolex has a database for stolen watches for decades, so any stolen watch that goes in for service gets confiscated.
What else should Rolex do, sell a security guard with the watch?
Furthermore not just Rolex gets stolen, lots of RM’s, Pateks and other brands suffer from similar faith, so to single out Rolex is not an accurate statement. How about other luxury items like lady’s bags, jewelry, cars?
How about allowing good citizens to have access to self protection not just the bad guys?
Does that sound like a solution?

I could be wrong but I think technically in CA a LTC is a matter of public record so the list has always been there, just not publicized. Not saying it's right, but more that it's not arbitrary release of records but a consistent anti-gun mentality.

It's also a lot of unscrupulous dealers. It's in the industry news that some dealers get caught with multiple stolen watches. These dealers have been in the Los Angeles area in the past, Miami, and Diamond District of New York City.

I don't think there's an easy solution...
But you're right. Rolex's core competency is making watches. And they're so good at that - that's why the watches are desirable. And that's why the thieves are targeting them.
