Horological Meandering

Hi Fairfax.

In terms of complicatons, I'd say the Moser, of course, as a perpetual calendar is, to me, more  appealing than a  " simple " moonphase.

And the Moser is an interesting perpetual calendar!

BUT, there are several reasons which lead me to go for the JLC, instead:

1/ The simplicity of the dial, on the Moser is a pro and a con at the same time. I love its simplicity, very " under the radar ", but I also regret not having, under the eyes, all the calendar datas.

2/ The purpose of the Quantieme Lunaire is not the moonphase, which is more a pretext, than accuracy.

The concept behind this watch is realy  interesting, the two barrels, feeding, independantly, the balance wheel ,and all the time functions, the 2 hacking seconds ( the foudroyante  and the " traditional " one ) at the service of accuracy.

3/ The Duometre aesthetics: A superb case, a nicely decorated and finished movement, a great grained dial.

4/ To me, the Duometre is certainly the best offer from JLC in the world of Belle Horlogerie.

You have another option if you prefer a plain dial, which is the Duometre à Q.L in white gold: a stunning beast which adds strenght to its natural elegance.

BUT, BUT, BUT... You will  be the one who will wear it, so, as usual, nobody can decide for you, it is just up to you!

Best,

Nicolas.
