Horological Meandering

thanks for the info!

Wow, thanks for all the great opinions smile Keep them coming!

It seems that there're slightly more people liking the JLC due to the dial being more interesting. Amanico did bring up a good point saying that Moser's simplicity is a two-edged sword and I agree. But spending this much on a watch, I'm hoping to keep it for the rest of my life. Because the Moser is more classic looking, it seems to be a safer bet. However, for the JLC, I don't know if it's uniqueness well stay classic. One thing I like about the JLC is that despite being unique, it doesn't have that look that will be "out of fashion" in 10-20 years, like Hublots, RMs, etc IMHO. I feel that some of Daniel Roth's stuff is like that: they looked amazing years back, but seem a bit "dated". What do you guys think; am I wrong? The classic aspect appeals to me, but the JLC is a wildcard in that respect.

As another note, I'm planning to build up my collection in the future with more interesting pieces, like the DB15/DB28, UN Tellurium, Haldimann H1 & Voutilainen. But those are much further down the road. I'm not a guy who likes to constantly buy and sell, but instead want to build up a core collection of 5 high-end watches, with another 5 daily wear ones by narrowing my current collection.

Again thanks for the great info -- this is really helping me come to a better decision soon.
