Just to be clear about something: I don't have strong views about who's in the "big three" or whether there should even be a "big three." I just thought that raising the issue might trigger some really interesting (meandering!) discussion about why we love watches and the highly complex relationship that genuine watch-lovers have with the brands. And in that I have may have succeeded, if only indirectly, to the extent that this magnificent thread is viewed as a sequel to the thread I started. Threads like this confirm why the Purists is the best game in town for interesting watch-talk: if anyone had posted a "who's in the big three" question in some other watch forums I could name, there would have been a lot more heat and a lot less light. - Jon
