Horological Meandering

i like them, but...

 

all of you make an excellent point about the date windows.  still, i do like the aesthetics of the faces on a number of these, and, if they're entry level or whatever term you like, that's fine too.  but my complaint would be the rotors.  they just look poorly executed to me, especially with the punched out longines emblem.  go has its cut rotor, but it just looks like a higher quality execution to my inexpert eye.  and that kind of defect would nag at me.

the point about longines having fallen from its glorious heritage is well taken, but it was not always at the summit and had its ups and downs over the course of 180 years.  in the present case, the movements were exclusively made for them, that's something of value, and this represents an uptick in the brands efforts?  can't that be conceded?
