Horological Meandering

I would second this recommendation.

I have owned one for over a year.  Excellent quartz accuracy, the PVD coating seems pretty tough and the NATO strap is cheap to replace.  The dial is very legible.  It is also a genuine military watch, although obviously the ones sold to the general public were never military issue.

Possible downsides:
- Only available from one dealer by mail order (or ebay).
- Fixed military bars, so you can't use a normal bracelet or strap.
- In mine the second hand is a fraction off the marker for each tick.

I had been thinking of recommending this watch to the original poster but wondered if it was too much of a niche watch.
