interesting thread and I will give you my answers but once again we will probably agree to disagree as we did on the last automobile subject and what was considered as overall quality

What do I consider as haute horlogerie? A watch or brand that doesn't use movement from a third party like Frédéric Piguet and Lemania (even though sometimes these ebauches are so modified that they can be considered as inhouse) and who makes their own movement with meticulous finish including complications like the perpetual calendar, flying tourbillon, minute repeater, rattrapante, annual calendar, universal time and more.Finish has has to be stellar on the dial, case, crown, bracelet, strap and buckle

Vacheron constantin has always been a synonym of haute horlogerie whereas Rolex never was however the Rolex 6062 with the moonphase, day and date indicators should be considered as an haute horlogerie piecebecause Bao Dai had one and it sold for over 2.5 million dollars and because it is very rare watch with a top notch movement in Rolex's history
As much as I like Grand Seiko, they can't be considered as Haute horlogerie and never will be considered as such even their credor even if more top of the range the finish isn't equal on what you would find in a Patek or in a Dubuis nor don't Credor or /and the Grand Seiko range of watches bear the Geneva Seal Hallmark nor the qualité Fleurier Hallmark.
A sports watch whether it be a sub, a sd, a seamaster, a daytona, a speedmaster, a superocean heritage II, an overseas,a 50 fathoms and a plo prof can be considered as a fine watch. I don't consider SUVs as quality vehicles but rather a fashion trend. I personally think that a real enthusiast generally enjoys big luxury sedans. I am old school and stubborn but when it comes to an enthiast's car , it is either a 1985-1992 Mercedes 560 sel or a 1992-1998 Mercedes 600sel or a 1986-1993 BMW 750i or 1994-2001 BMW 750IL or 1994-2001 Audi A8 or a 1994-2001 Cadillac Seville STS
Purists are never parochial nor close minded, everyone is different and doesn't have the same tastes. The world would be too boring if everyone liked the same things. As usual , we will probably not agree on everything.
