I was wondering if the answer might actually be "another Rolex". And this one certainly has more pizzaz! I never paid much attention to the Yachtmasters--I'm an explorer kind of guy, sure, but am I a yachtmaster kind of guy? The 36mm version is very nice, but the 40mm version would work too if you want more wrist presence.

If you are a collector, replace it with the 1016 or better still a gilt 5500. If you are an enthusiast, the 14270 is a great everyday wear with a solid movement that’s built to take the outdoors. It is called the Explorer for good reason.
