It largely is aesthetic, plus not having a feel
for how much abuse some of these gorgeous watches can take. It's also that I'm crazy, as are many out here, and obsessed with watches.
As far as G Shock, I have a couple, and they're largely illegible. They're what I wear when I exercise. They're also fairly chunky in a G shock sort of way.
I'm out here because I love beautiful, mechanical watches. So my motivation in this post is, I'd like a mechanical watch that I really admire that I don't need to worry about. I'd prefer to wear a watch like that to a g shock if I was out riding around all day. I usually take nice watches off when I cook, but I'd like a watch I could wear when i'm knocking around over a stove, with pans, steam, water etc.
Some I've seen out here that caught my eye would be a pre-owned speedy, or a new Sinn. Or maybe a cheap Seiko.
We shall see.

Funny, I actually came across this seiko. It's for sure
a very affordable option. I'm on the fence about the diver look, but i suspect may be the sturdiest designs. I was considering explorer for a lot more money than the seiko due to cosmetics. Thanks!

How is omega for reliability and ruggedness?
That last one with the orange looks great! And so shiny. Will probably scratch up well! Was looking at a seamaster great white GMT. May be too pretty to beat.

I tried on the red, and I loved it except for some gold accents on the indices. Felt like a deal breaker to me.
