Other then that might be the case thickness as I am after a mb&f mad which is 18mm thick and I’ll give it a try. Also by your example I can live with anything a little too much I guess but just a little, a little too thick or a little too small etc shouldn’t be a deal breaker, up to a certain point where it still stays quite harmonious on my wrist
