I consider myself a newcomer in watch collecting, having only been at this hobby for the past 3 years. Much like Kolosstt's journey , my initial steps were somewhat meandering - intermittent missteps, occasionally on the right path, but always learning, a...

The Vacheron is for me the finest one. If the Patek didn't have the date, I would have ranked it first. The Lange is a sure value, and the JLC is the smart one. Excellent taste, my friend. What's next? ;) Best, Nicolas

Hi NT931, as often we have to confess our wives are usually right even if we do not readily admit it. At the same time your son is also right in discovering the differences between your 5 watches. They are different, but of the same kind - both are right ... 

For me, it's Patek number one, even with the date window, and Lange close number two. GS looks very clean, and as Nico said the JLC is the smart choice! Congrats!

The fact that you listened to the advise and guidance you did not stray and kept true to what you like as is clearly show in your picture. That will make a collector smile as you stayed true to yourself and did not fall in the traps of fashion, popularity...

Each watch has its own traits. Each is very different. All are substantial pieces that, I would think, anyone here would be happy to have. Three-hand watches are the backbone of many collections, and are the essence of watch-making and watch-collecting. C... 

Very nice shot you made there NT931, In this ensemble it is the VC for me. Beautiful hands and outstanding dial. In fact, your son has the right spirit. It is very different and this because of far more than the different strap colours. So nothing foolish...

The Lange, Seiko and Vacheron get my vote. I would be very happy with anyone of them. The Patek and the Jaeger are a hair too busy for me. A fantastic single-theme collection.

You have a curator's eye for watch collecting and I agree with everyone here that this white on white themed collection is spectacular. I would be interested to know if you made any mistakes in your three year watch collecting journey? Any breguet marine ... 

Thank you Edward for your kind comments. Oh yes, there definitely were others I bought in the 3 year journey which I later realized were not quite me. My preferences evolved over time (and I'm sure will evolve further), so I've sold some others which just...
