My Suggestion.
I think the following watch with a handmade movement by one of the greatest watchmakers of our era, who also is known to be one of the most decent and kindest. At one point, he held the record for most-complicated watch ever. He certainly went above and beyond on a watch I bought from him.
The Paul Gerber Model 41.
Note this is the one with his manufacture movement, not the 2824 modified version. I stole the photos from his website
And, other than owning one of his watches, I am not related to him or in business with him, so my prejudices are pure.

yes Journe has a few choices here
and really his are the only true movement-lover's sport watches... Only problem, the Centigraphe is a bit too busy for my taste... And the date/time versions are unappealing design-wise for my taste... But who can argue with Journe's movements!!
DB for me
My pick would be the DB24. Lightweight and designed for vigorous use. No extraneous functions, no rotating bezels, no date! Honest product by people more interested in making improvements than making ads about it. Beautiful from all angles but case-back v...

. . . there's no shortage of ostensible sports watches with refined movements, but who would play tennis with a Dato? I wouldn't even play pool with one, for fear of marring it. Art
