Seiko is a great watch maker...
hi Moses, when i was young and did not know much about watches, but i still remember clearly the watch on dad's wrist was a simple Seiko. my impressive was Seiko is a very nice looking, valued for money and durable watch. i was saying to myself that i will surely get one Seiko when i grow up later. thus, after i got my first job and had so-called my own money, i went to buy my first Seiko. although it was just a quartz one, i am still keeping it in the box and keep it running. it may be due to sentimental more than other factors. but in any case i still think Seiko is a great watch maker, especially in recent years, i got to know more, understand and appreciate watches. i find like some vintage Seiko e.g. GS, KS are outstanding watches which can benchmark with Swiss made ones. recently i got a vintage Seiko Lord Marvel 36000, you can imagine it is running perfectly and also very accurately. the dial is also very nice, please see the pic attached below. my simple mind is that why not to get Swiss watches and Seiko one at the same time, as long as they are great! stefan

I have the same model as Rei but in white dial. Got it from Hong Kong in 2009 and it is really keeping very good time. It does not feel cheap at all and i look forward to see the new Hi-Beat in flesh.

in regards to the GSs. I have the SBGM003 and just love it. I wear it more than any other piece, even more than my Patek. The craftsmanship will rival most high-end manufacturers, Swiss or other wise. Do post some pictures! Aloha, Bob
