A big reason I moved for the GS is I wanted something less common than the Rolex. Well, at least of the people I know, most wil have rolexes as opposed to GS. Mabe I've got funny circles LOL.
I get what you are trying to say with the Porsche analogy and I agree to some extent but I'm not so sure GS is like a Porsche. I view GS, and that's just me, in a lower perceived luxury class so to speak. Perhaps after several months of ownership, my views will change. But yes, it is "cold" in appearance and emotion and finish which maybe is consistent with the clinical level of finish and accuracy. So "cold", I would agree... maybe that's why its made of surgical steel or so the salesperson told me?

I have the same model as Rei but in white dial. Got it from Hong Kong in 2009 and it is really keeping very good time. It does not feel cheap at all and i look forward to see the new Hi-Beat in flesh.

Moses, you will find that there is a growing community here...
in regards to the GSs. I have the SBGM003 and just love it. I wear it more than any other piece, even more than my Patek. The craftsmanship will rival most high-end manufacturers, Swiss or other wise. Do post some pictures! Aloha, Bob
