Horological Meandering

My recent venture into the vintage world. I discover few type of illumination material use for watch dial. Hoping to learn more may I ask among you all these following question: 1. Which do you prefer in term of color wise discounting the effect of patina... 

From my point of view the danger associated with the handling of watches with radium dials is heavily underestimated by laymen. Many watch makers refuse servicing or repairing these watches in our days because it requires a vacuum decontamination chamber ... 

guys on Rolex & Panerai should be dead by now... joke aside it's important to know what you are dealing with and make all common sense steps to avoid contamination but then again if we have another Chernobyl the risk is far greater than wearing vintage Pa...

I have much to learn on this subject but yes the small egiziano is truly a beauty in sight. My wife is worry about the effect of radium though. I just hope is not the Helen of Troy where the price is the kingdom! Best Tyler

Well, it is ... But the biggest problem is to find one. The one you saw in my pics was promised to me, if you read the story, and it ended on someone's else wrist, but at least, the Monsieur in question is a true gentleman, which is a consolation for me. ...

..Radium use for luminosity. I thought its only Superluminova and Tritium, thus the "L"s and the "T"s below our watch dials. Is it true that it takes longer time for Luminova to be transformed to having the patinas as opposed to Radiuma and Tritium which ...
