That is my kind of patina.
It turns to a delicious amber color.
Generally, the redium dials turn into this color, which is my fav patina, by far.
Is radioactivity a a problem?
First we have to keep in mind that there were several kind of radium used for the indexes, all much more radioactive, truly, than the Tritium used later.
But there is another problem: It is not sure to certainly date when radium was changed for tritium.
On some Rolex dials, tritium was used way before Swiss dials were changed for T Swiss < 25 came.
Same for Panerai, which seem to not only have used radium for their vintage watches.
Is there any danger?
Seriously, if you don't lick it, there is no danger.
I have a lot of radium dials, and for many years, I still type this words.
Best,
Nicolas.
