Horological Meandering

Thanks AT and Mitch for the comprehensive report. 3 questions...

1) The case & buckle are from 316L stainless steel. Any functional reason/s for not choosing Type 904L (which a brand could be using)?

2) It was mentioned on the St. Gallen website, the silicon for the straps are different from other silicon straps used in the market....

"....Its anti-shear power (to 250 ppi) exceeds any other silicon-based watch strap in the market."

What is anti-shear and how it applies to straps?

3) This watch is designed for easy disinfection with disinfectant solution or detergent.
Any tests done to verify  the life of  the gasket (sealing the crystal) to withstand daily disinfecting?
