The outer case dimension should not be changed.
It should be the same dimesions for all their collections, so that their Instruments (the Reef & the Rock) can be mounted on.
Even the latest 2011 SpidoSpeed has the same dimension at 44mm(Width) X 46mm(Length).

Will find a vernier-caliper to counter-check

The Deepsea Creatures of Linde Werdelin
The Linde Werdelin Oktopus Tattoo took 2 years from conceptualisation to production. It is not due to the shape of the case. It is the 'tattoo' imprint production technique on steel which has to be mastered for repeatability for at least eight-two pieces....

I love the engraving on the case...
