Horological Meandering

Yup, the Oktopus is officially sold out...

The naked steel and titanium versions went first, followed shortly by the DLC steel version, then the Moonphase, and now the Tattoo, hence they're no longer listed on LW's website (you can still find some in retail channels, though).  This leads me to believe that something new will be in place by next year to fill the void left by the Okto's departure, but only time will tell.  In the meantime, I'll be enjoying mine to the fullest.

As for my particular Oktopus, the micobille finished titanium, contrasted with the lacquered bezel and rhodium-plated indexes was always my favorite (at least among the versions I could afford), and I knew the minute that it debuted at Basel 2009 that I would have one sooner or later.  It came with the rubberized calf strap (that's the one at 9 o'clock), and I wound up adding the textile strap and 'gator strap later on.  I'll probably pick up a rubber strap before long, but for now, the textile strap is pretty good at handling the wet stuff (bath time for the kids, doing the dishes, showering...).  I haven't yet had the opportunity to take it into the water, but summer is just around the corner...

Regards,
Adam
