Under 5k, the following would be my choices:
Omega - I'd pick an aqua terra. You said no diver/yacht theme, but you could consider a different style like the railmaster, 15k gauss, etc.
Grand Seiko - Lots of options here, but I like pictures I've seen of the tough quartz SBGX341/SBGX343. Or you could get something with a spring drive movement and that would still be under 5k.

Sinn is a good brand, serious watches not flashy, very tough in Stainless or Titanium

Get a ball watch.
Swiss made with America heritage. They got a couple of aviation theme watch and other models with dual time function. You still can buy a Nomos or even a Sinn with $5k budget plus a bit more. 😜
