Fair comment about the strap!
But for me comfort is everything. My RW Smith arrived a few months ago with a less than impressive strap (especially for a watch costing 40 times more than the Kurono) and it was not even comfortable. So relatively I am a great fan of these comfortable Kurono straps. For me the emphasis is on the beautiful urushi dial and the comfort in wearing it. But I know many purists have placed a great deal of emphasis on straps, be it a different colour or texture which can change the whole character of a watch. I am wondering if the strap on your chronograph is of a similar material because those on my watch set are hyper supple.

The green dial was also my favourite when I first saw photos of the launch. But you are absolutely correct that the watches look better in real life and the dials look quite different under varying light conditions.

I think many previous Kurono owners were left frustrated when they found out that the only way they could obtain one of these box sets, assuming they had no contacts in Japan, would have been to fly to Japan which is logistically not possible for many. I ...

But was unsuccessful in getting one allocated to my wife. I have seen the Seiji in the flesh and it is the very chic. Hope you are enjoying wearing your Kurono. As they say, better late than never!

As it is almost impossible to buy a Hajime Asaoka watch, this is the next best thing and as I love the way he focuses on the dial in the Kurono range. That after all is what we look at most of the time!

I honestly think they are the same, same black leather, same looks. They are very supple and comfortable indeed, but lacking a bit of "excitement".
I get your point, clearly the pleasure on your watches stand in the Uruchi lacquer dial, while chronos are more of daily wearers. I chose a plain red leather strap for my Shiro chrono which looks good and makes the watch fun to wear.

I am further consolidating my collection with further reduction… and so happy about each move. Of course it is a huge sacrifice to let go some beloved treasures each time but on the other hand it is for upgrading, making dreams come true, and less headach...

that it is more of a meeting place for fans and clients of Kurono as the boutique itself will carry no stock to sell since the watches are sold online apart from on this one instance.

You will never forget that set and neither will I. More than 4 years of ownership and I have not worn it yet - I do wind it daily though and use the pocket watch occasionally.
