Here's a quote for you, Marcus, or for your wife actually
Steve Jobs (as quoted by Walter Isaacson, Steve Jobs, 2011 New York):
When you're a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you're not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will ever see it. You'll know it's there, so you're going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back. For you to sleep well at night, the aesthetic, the quality, has to be carried all the way through.
Does that sound familiar? Beautiful, isn't it. We die-hard PuristS are all the same, aren't we. I hope this little quote helps your wife understand the difference between the insides of your ship and plane models on the one hand and the actually empty oven on the other hand. The difference is that we sleep well while she doesn't.
Enjoy your meal!
