Well said. I missed Valentin's previous article when he posted it and only caught it later. I'd like to say that I share both his and your viewpoints. As for me, among all (yet certainly a limited number of) watches that I know of, only the Simplicity, H8...

to spend your money. But like modern art comparison done before, you can find it stupid, useless, etc but some can also find that brillant for some reasons. In the case of the H9, some will find it brillant (I do), some will find it stupid.

in a nice case... aesthetically, it is alluring. But allure usually has a payoff. This is what Lenny Bruce once described as 'gettin' it up but not gettin' it off'. This accessory makes fun of itself and pokes fun at all ultra high end watches and collect... 

We know or should khow how fool we are to love those useless things. As you say it exposes it, it gives a lot of fun and at the same time it is a really beautiful and discrete "watch", it is assuming what we are. You look at it, you smile, you can make as...

It doesn't do nothing, it ticks, you can hear it, wind it, and look at it, it just doesn't give time. And you have a secret movement which is actually beautiful. Making a far fetched comparison, buying a vintage Longines 13Zn, you have a chronograph like ...

The brutal truth is that when people start spending silly money on a watch that is not really a watch, I think it really goes to show that we as collectors have spoilt them - the watch makers.
