PF 317 is a fantastic caliber
Very well constructed ( base PF331 - dia 28mm) with a diameter of 35.6mm including the calendar module; height of 5.4 mm; 50 hour power reserve; 316 components, 22KT gold rotor adorned with barleycorn guilloche and even the screw heads polished to perfection.
Some watch reviewers have commented that the caliber is small , relative to the case and have remarked that the crystal back has been deliberately kept off-centre to hide the small size.
Just for a quick comparison, the Patek Philippe caliber 240 ( which is used in 5139, 5140, 5130 world time 5131) regarded as a fantastic movement, is 27.5mm in diameter! Yet none speak of the diameter being small.
The 240 transforms to 240 LU CL at 38mm by the addition of the celestial complications module to fit the Patek Philippe Ref 6102 ( Celestial)

No gold rotor on my watch. AFAIK, they put the guilloche gold rotor only on the gold versions of the Hemispheres. On my watch, there is a steel rotor, in line with the case material. Enjoy! Daniel ...

Its just the standard dialed previous version of the Tonda (which I prefer). The newer version has skeletonized hands and they've removed the thin gold oval ring
around the name (which has been enlarged).
