But Tempus has “owned” L&H for maybe a decade or so. I don’t know the origin of Tempus however, although I thought I read somewhere that it was formed at the same time as UWD which itself was headed up by Marco Lang (right?). So perhaps Tempus was just a holding company for the investors in UWD and L&H, and has subsequently added further investments (Stowa, Blacken).
Someone else will know the answer and the detail. But re L&H, it’s as “independent” as it ever was.
These look awesome and only a doofus would claim they are derivative, so that's a big plus.

It's a nice movement, used by Joshua Shapiro and, probably others. Someone else in the thread pointed to the dial being reminiscent of a Longines open heart model from a decade back, but the watch looks like an L&H to me.

It’s slow motion. You can see each jump is in between the second markers. If it’s a dead beat, it would jump from one second marker to the next second marker directly.
Balance rate vs. deadbeat seconds
Beat rate of the balance (3Hz) has nothing to do with a seconde morte. Don’t mix up the regulating organ with the display of the seconds.

The video had a sound beat tempo. It was earlier on before all the specs came about, so we were speculating. It is easy to talk in hindsight but don’t forget we were speculating before all the specs became available.

Than this above open heart example. The opening on the LH is actually the same skeleton bridge on the UWD movement and it shows the gears behind it. So I find it a nice touch. Just my two cents

Yes, those Gay Frères bracelets were amazing.
Probably too dressy for a sports watch but they could have definitely done something more interesting than picking up an old IWC/jlc design (admittedly pretty well finished). Looking at the Lang and Heyne Instagram, based on pictures I do find their brace...

The dial doesn’t speak to me and the bracelet is to 70’s fir me I realize this is all personal taste and I respect everybody who does like it.

but first glance the whole watch reminds me of Lange Odysseus, at second glance much worse: Frederique Constant open dial??? Who needs this at a german sport ( ??? ) watch. The whole image is something very eclectic what I don’t like at all.

All in all, very nice. Almost sector-dial-ish with the different finishes and right-sized hands. My only issue...

Interesting to know he is US based, and also note the comment re expanding L&H points of sale in the US.
When I was originally looking for a specific model to see in the metal, it was basically impossible. With more points of sale must come more watches.
