It's a nice movement, used by Joshua Shapiro and, probably others. Someone else in the thread pointed to the dial being reminiscent of a Longines open heart model from a decade back, but the watch looks like an L&H to me.

Ha ha, I see my doofus comment has been a hit! Not even the smallest offense meant! But, I did hope to undercut the inevitable discussion of how every element of a watch is vaguely reminiscent of another watch.

Very interesting. I was watching the teaser videos on their website to see a ticking hand.

I think that was just a very slow motion video. Correct me if I'm wrong though!

He said 3 Hertz movement...and mentioned ticking in the video (may be a translation). Yes it seems slow-mo now you've mentioned it.

It’s slow motion. You can see each jump is in between the second markers. If it’s a dead beat, it would jump from one second marker to the next second marker directly.

Beat rate of the balance (3Hz) has nothing to do with a seconde morte. Don’t mix up the regulating organ with the display of the seconds.

The video had a sound beat tempo. It was earlier on before all the specs came about, so we were speculating. It is easy to talk in hindsight but don’t forget we were speculating before all the specs became available.

The movement looks incredible as well. Looking forward to seeing some photos of this!

Thanks. I hardly know anything about independents. Can’t afford anything in that price range. I’ve spent the equivalent on my house, teddy bears and clothes.=D

As for the watch, I’m not a fan, but I doubt that L&H cares about my opinion

Than this above open heart example. The opening on the LH is actually the same skeleton bridge on the UWD movement and it shows the gears behind it. So I find it a nice touch. Just my two cents

Otherwise the watch is not really to my taste although probably proper judgement should be reserved for when seen in person. Is there a need for that opening in the dial?!

Probably too dressy for a sports watch but they could have definitely done something more interesting than picking up an old IWC/jlc design (admittedly pretty well finished). Looking at the Lang and Heyne Instagram, based on pictures I do find their brace...

The dial doesn’t speak to me and the bracelet is to 70’s fir me I realize this is all personal taste and I respect everybody who does like it.

but first glance the whole watch reminds me of Lange Odysseus, at second glance much worse: Frederique Constant open dial??? Who needs this at a german sport ( ??? ) watch. The whole image is something very eclectic what I don’t like at all.

Love the backside! The front though is rather meh - it doesn't really excite me much.

Would be interested to hear what people think regarding the “why” for this watch. I guess there was little choice from a business perspective. To be clear, if it is a case of selling 40-50 of these a year and doing so allows for the rest of the catalogue ...

In Singapore, more than fifty orders (and increasing!) have been received so I can imagine that this figure is probably close to 1000 for the whole world. And with only 99 watches available, I think the success of this watch speaks for itself. Firstly, it...

Sincere Singapore had ordered 30 out of the 99 pieces so they plan to allocate the watches to current customers first.

So L&H isn’t technically an Independent any more.

But Tempus has “owned” L&H for maybe a decade or so. I don’t know the origin of Tempus however, although I thought I read somewhere that it was formed at the same time as UWD which itself was headed up by Marco Lang (right?). So perhaps Tempus was jus...

When I was originally looking for a specific model to see in the metal, it was basically impossible. With more points of sale must come more watches.
