It took me only minutes (seconds) to decide to purchase this when I saw it!!!! A grail watch. From my perspective, at these unusual times of financial crisis, very few watches will be worth the effort to buy. THIS is one of them...for me.

which one did you get? I would want both starcruiser on the left sidewinder on the right

I forgot where i read it but dont people wear a watch on the left hand because its the right hand to wear it on? they have right handed watches for a reason i would think? so is the sidewinder a right handed watch?

It is heavy, solid, and has a sense of mass on the wirst.

It feels at ease with its spirit of being both a machine and a sculpture. There is a total dynamic tension that creates a feeling of LIFE. The watch remains VISUALLY "moving" and "pulsating" on the wrist. It was MY choice for watch of the year 2008. No do...

For those who missed or even own the Opus V...this is the inspirational opposite. In many ways, it is the apogee of any collection, possibly the sum of a single series.

Even if I had no money...this is one watch I will save up for and buy.

It is THAT good. It goes way beyond my own limits of imagination. I cannot even recall a time when I was DESPERATE to own an inanimate object. This is one such time. No kidding. I have ZERO interests in MBF as one can see. So..this is a totally unbiased e...

Like protractor. Very special protractor I have a long time and tried to miscarry it many times during the regular cleaning. But it is in my table for this day. Excellent machine from Max team! All my expectations were shift by the very original decisions...

i prefer the starcruiser, it just seems more aesthetically pleasing to me, but thats just me. the only 'criticism' if its possible to criticise something this good, is that on the starcruiser the date triangle would have been more symmetrical at the 12 oc...

Looks like a basic automatic movement (regulated at that) with extra cogs to that the movement is upside down, but the display is moved to the side. And yes, there the Urwerk approach (Opus V) is noted. Sure, looks like something Hans Solo would wear, and... 

I agree it is not groundbreaking technically

It's a Girard Perregaux cal. 3100 with a cleverly designed module. But the look is different. Perhaps it is a sad reflection of the market given that a GP movement is so exciting. - SJX

I thought that MB&F were going to alternate...

it seems too much kinetic sculpture. Besides the price, I doubt it would fit well on a 6" wrist.

about this watch. Like many others have said, this HM3 doesn't really break any new grounds in terms of design, function, and layout..etc. but I think it's overall appearence is in line with MB&F's creations thus far. I too feel that the GP based movement...
