but, as far as I know, they're not pocket watches converted to wristwatches.
I personally like this "strangeness" a lot because I see it as the creation of a lonely man doing everything by hand and pursuing an inner idea of unseen beauty...

I love how 'hand made' these look...
...it is what attracted me to Smith back in the day. That, and I saw an early Smith rectangular watch that might be my all-time favorite. But from photos, it seems that Smith watches have lost some of that 'simple' look.
