Subtract the date, and this beats the Explorer hands down.
With the date... it's debatable.
But i read somewhere that it is less reliable than caliber 30110 which is ETA-based, in the mark XV.
My opinion is the Mark XV keeps the balance between classic size and reliability but i understand the appeal of JLC caliber

I like both versions a lot. Recently I tried the new titanium version, but did not buy it as the AD was very stiff on prices. I may get one from the used market eventually. Very drawn to the older designs especially the Mark XII’s dial.
