IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Rattrapante.
A watch I owned for several years before being stupidly scammed...
The one and only one Rattrapante I ever had.

At that time, in 2005, I didn't have a camera...
But I damn loved this outdated case, the dial, and, of course this Rattrapante.
The platinum case was a bit hefty, but on the wrist, it was such a pleasure.
That was one of these good IWC...

I always vacillate between this one the the original Da Vinci Perpetual Chrono ref 3750 as my favourites. Have never owned either but keep longingly Looking at them even now

I had the RG perp cal chrono model (from 1999 if I remember correctly). Enjoyed wearing it but it made way for something more rare. It had charm for sure. Ingenious module devised by Mr. Klaus. It is disconcerting now to see the newly revised 2017 Da Vinc...

per IWC. Reading between the lines that would be the justification for premium besides new case design & warranty. Sure IWC should make some of their R&D investment back but it seems awfully aggressive when we all understand where IWC stands in the market...

I do value the warranty and simple purchasing. That is very important to me, but only to a point.... there must be reason not folly!

it was a time when IWC was a brand I admired, perhaps more than any other. A great piece for sure. I also like your remark about the outdated design. I agree, of course. But I have thought many times that one day this design will become desirable by a bro...

... was just an ironical wave at your date-phobia I always adored the classic da Vinci, but have to admit that this version was not my favourite, due to the huge numerals on the dial. Marcus
