IWC

Alas, the time has finally come, as I have procured enough funds to purchase my next watch. However, I am torn between two choices, namely the IWC Portuguese 7-Day and the Dornbluth Regulator. Both watches deeply satisfy my desire for silvered dials and h...  

but the same cannot be said about Donrbluth--though his son takes a shine to horology if this is a life long keeper, the watch you choose will hopefully have the layers of interest that keep your attention, It sounds like the Dornbluth really intrigues yo...

I would personally choose the Dornbluth. They are terrific people all around- extremely nice to deal with, and don't worry about service issues, since the movement is based on a widely available movement, if you for some reason don't have the funds to sen...

I agree. I have a wrist somewhere between 6.5 and 6.75. Had as Dornbluth for a while (moved to Habrig2) and really liked the fit. Plus the silver dial was amazing. Almost like a speck but not quite.

I realized that you liked the IWC because of the blued steel of its hands and dial.... talk to Dirk Dornbluth and see what he can do in this respect. You might be surprised to get a really unique watch out of it. S

I ordered mine with applied blue numerals and some other minor customizations but in general, I have been satisfied so far with Dirk with his personal touch. I agree with most that servicing shouldn't be much of a problem knowing the base is a widely used...

Overlay the CS model with the 99.3 (minus two subdials) and you see it. The CS looks to me to have too much blank dial acreage. PR at 12, dial text between the center and the 6, and you have some measure of balance. No numbers eaten, either. I know little...
