IWC

Sorry to hear that Ken..

My own experience with IWC service may not be relevant because it was like back in early 2000 which I recall went quite well actually.

Even if there were 3rd party parts, it should not matter as you are not claiming warranty and if necessary I am sure you won't mind Richemont replacing those with IWC components as part of the repair/service contract.  We are not talking about an entire 3rd party movement inside your IWC for crying out loud!

Last year I sent a vintage Omega Seamaster to Swatch for servicing and they did a very good job even replacing "foreign parts" noted in their service list.  However they insisted on replacing the case even though I resisted as Swatch was not confident of water resistance of the old case which showed sign of corrosion.  In the end, they did not have the case in stock anymore back in Swiss (LOL) but proceeded with the servicing nonetheless.

Not sure if you are able to contact the Richemont Japan service center directly (or maybe another boutique or AD instead), it may or may not help but probably worth a try given the attitude of this boutique.

Hope it ends up well for you.

Best,
SF
