Clavi, I wish I could have found such a gorgious watch. Although its size could be quite outdated, its shape, its dial, its lungs are very attractive. The bakelite box is the icing on the cake. My only concern regarding vintage watches would be the overal... 

I agree with you that there is today a real lack of reference material on JLC vintage watches. However, the two main factors that explain this situation should be significantly reduced in the future: - JLC has decided to put more effort on the exploration... 

Hi, I am also definitely looking forward to see Zaf Basha's book, but as far as I understood from other forums, this summer is a little bit too early for the release, no ? To what extent is JLC ready to open, i.e. put on the net and not only in Le Sentier... 

From what I have read on Zaf's web site, the release was scheduled for "late July 2008 if all goes as planned." (posted on the 12th of May) But if you have more fresh information, I would be pleased to know the updated release date (even for a bad news...... 

Hello, The book is finally out as of September 23. I'm not sure I would call it a complete documentation of JLC (that would probably require 2000 pages!) but it should be a fairly thorough discussion of most relevant models between 1925 and 1970. It cover... 

Have you got pics of the movement? Is it decorated and in near perfect condition too? Cheers Christian

I didn't take pics of the movement However, I saw it, and I can tell you it is very finely decorated, with smooth 40's style geneva stripes, nice anglage, and everything that made a premium movement at the time (doing fine, state of the art finishing for ...  

On the case back, you can read Lecoultre, but on the movement, it is written Jaeger Le Coultre... I believed that this kind of mismatch wasn't good, some few exceptions apart. Is this watch one of theses few exceptions? Best. Nicolas

Actually, you will never find a Jaeger LeCoultre signed case in any vintage Jaeger LeCoultre. LeCoultre is the correct marking whatever is written on the dial. The other 'rule' you might confuse with is that indeed most frequently the name on the movement...
