Great report on a beauty of a watch
Indeed great watch JLC is offering here. What I find especially fascinating is that they fitted quite a complex total in a 42mm case. I like that a lot; instead of making 45 mm + cases keep it within proportions. I can understand the critisism on the dial being busy, but this is wat this watch is. It shows a few complications, so the dial tends to be a bit more busy than usual. IMO it is very well balanced and fits perfectly in the JLC tradition of watch making.
Thanks,
Starman
Nico how well do you think

the fudroyante fit in this watch?I mean it obviously have a porpouse in the Duometre a Chronographe for time measuring, but don t you think its slightly out of place here?I haven t seen the watch obviously,so..... but could the dial at 6 have been use for ...
I think I agree...

While perfect for a chronograph, for me the 1/6 second indicator seems out of place here. Visually it works, but I can't reconcile the addition of this function with the lumbering pace of the moon phase. That said perhaps this dichotemy is what makes it i...

I know you are a fan of the DB25 (classic version). What do you think of the moon phase treatment both25s just got?Would you go for the moon phase rather than the original DB25?If so, is it for the moon phase or the hand wound movement?or both?On the new D...

Thanks Jérôme - nice and comprehensive report! I was waiting for this report anxiously because I really like the Duomètre à Chronographe and was very curious to see the new sibling. I find this new Duo QL intriguing and I really want to like it... But I a...
AAAAAAAAHHHHHH the new DUO!!!
By: moc : January 24th, 2010-14:20
Well I must say this is the watch that stole my heart(from the pics only)at SIHH 2010.Where should I start:many features makes this a fantastic little number. The hacking seconds, the lunar calendar, the push button at 10 to change date(reminds me of Lange w...

No question an astounding glorious amazing piece of work--and so original!!! But hmmmm... I don't completely love it in these pics.... Does the open space in the dial remind anyone of the Joker's smile? Should we call this watch the Joker? I jest..... Hat...
This is one to think about

I am not fully in love with this Duo QL at first sight. I am dazzled by the technical features, the hacking feature and its brilliant execution, the perpetually running foudroyante, the equal balance of the moonphase and the time subdials, and the overall...
Thank you Dje....

for this great review..... From what i understand from your commends.... This duometre seems to be an improvement from the previous model in terms of accuracy... is it true?? granted, when the chrono operates it takes away from timekeeping.. but what when...
My pleasure!

Hi, Thank you for your comments. Yes we can consider that the Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire is an improvement from the Duometre a Chronographe in terms of precision. In fact it is aimed at being an improvement on classical mechanical watches like a tourbil...
So.....

the new dupometre is superior to the chronograph since it is more accurate...... As far as what I was expecting from you.... a patek review..... However you did a great job with this one... Cheers
Well

Hi, We'll have other Patek Philippe reviews, but I still did more JLC reviews and JLC is still one of my four favourite brands (no ranking among these four). JLC is also the brand I've more experienced myself. Cheers Dje

Hi, I understood your remark but as I've been a JLC forum moderator for 3 years and a half...... My four favourite brands are: JLC, PP, GP, Lange! My four favourite brands have not always been exactly these ones (and obviously there are others I appreciat...

Hi Mitch, Congratulations for your Duometre! Honestly my SIHH was definitely too short this year. As for the precise nuance of colour of the dial I can't answer yet. The press file says "eggshell" for the yellow gold version and it was indicated the same ...

a great report, Jerome. Quite a surprising followup to the Duometre Chronographe but I suppose a dual time is just too obvious. I really like the details and like you, not a fan of cutouts but this one works well, just like the ones on the Sonnerie. A dis...

Hi Damien, Thank you for your comments. In fact the Duometre has a higher finish than the Master line. Regarding technical specs I agree with you. Still there are several ways to show the moon phase but you can't just decide to have X years before you get...
