long time no talk.
the calypso hands just frustrate me, stems from the Amvox pieces... first i feel the minute hand is way too "loud", secondly it covers up the date window when its anywhere between 14 and 16 minutes, third it throws the dial off balance as the dial seems to look heavier wherever the minute hand it.... its just not clean at all.. not clean for cleanliness but clean as in it flows.
i will never own another amvox because of those hands as everytime i would look down i would get the feeling my minute hand was a snake and it just ate a giant mouse!. lol.

Actually it is the cal 883 from the DSMM
The 'out of place' calibre in the documentation is a K883, as featured in the Deep Sea Master Mariner, so definitively a non-alarm movement... Nice review BTW Nicoals ;-)
