My path to the Reverso

Throughout my watch journey, I’ve always held the Holy Trinity in high regard. However, over the past four years, I’ve grown increasingly fond of Jaeger-LeCoultre. The more I learn about the brand, the more I’m surprised by how little “hype” it receives. Some might say JLC is an underrated brand, truly appreciated only by dedicated horology enthusiasts.

I’ve had a few encounters with the Reverso before, and every time I tried one at an AD, I fell in love with it. Despite this, I never pulled the trigger—whether it was due to concerns about size, complications, or even the strap, which I know is easily changeable.

A few months ago, my family and I traveled to Switzerland. Being an obsessed watch enthusiast, I couldn’t resist stopping by any shop window that displayed watches. That’s when I discovered the Reverso Tribute Duoface Calendar and instantly fell in love. I visited multiple Bucherer ADs across the country, trying it on but hesitating due to the significant investment.

On my penultimate day in Lucerne, I couldn’t get the watch out of my head. So, I finally decided to make the purchase—and I couldn’t be happier. The Casa Fagliano straps are an absolute home run for me, adding a touch of casual style to a very formal watch.

I can confidently say that JLC is now in my top three favorite brands, and I’m certain I’ll pull the trigger on the Reverso Chronograph someday.
