When we say Jaeger Lecoultre, we think Geomatic, Geophysic, Memovox, Reverso, Polaris, Deep Sea Alarm, Triple Date, and a few others...
But there is also an evident interest in the simple beauty of basic watches such as this not very popular Vintage Jaeger Lecoultre, the Reference 109, which is a stainless steel 34 mm case, with a snap back case, a sublime glossy black dial, a large small seconds, and a basic Cal P 469 A movement.
In a certain way, it makes me think of the SHOM.
This watch is from the 40ies, like the SHOM is. More precisely from 1946, according to its movement number.
The movement is far from receiving an outstanding finish, but it is not unpleasant to see:
The pleasure is not always in the legend, and this reference is a superb evidence of that.
Best,
Nicolas
