Two JLC watches are amongst my SIHH selection: the Master Calendar for its very classic style and the Ultra-Thin Duoface. They will be blockbusters for JLC I think.
Of course we'll come back to each of these novelties, but I know your legendary impatience, so, in " avant premire " here are the novelties, this year, from the Grande Maison. Basically, JLC focused on three lines, three families: The Master Control, the...
I love several of these--astounding!! But the one I would like to own and wear is the Cermet Deep Sea... from the pics I have seen on a few forums, this is a super sport watch with immense JLC character. Love the cross cut pushers, black case, no 'automat...
If you love sporty watches, the new Black Deep Sea Chrono may well be for you. The Dressy watch fans will certainly appreciate and fall for the MUT Jubilé. The Gyro III is for those who love complicated watches, as well as the Duometre UTT, which needs a ...
Three questions: 1. Do you have a photo of the verso face of the new Ultra-thin Reverso? 2. What is the thickness of the 39mm MUT? 3. Where is the party tonight? Cheers, pplater.
1/ Yes. 2/ 4, 05 mm. 3/ In my plane. I had to come back home and to reality yesterday night, since I had to plead early in the morning. ;) Best, Nicolas
Duometre is really not my cup of tea. They decided to touch the master control tourbillon, which needed serious facelift, and what do they do? Just redesign the cage and the rotor. How about a less chunky bulky case... Like all fine tunes versions had? Ho...
... that one looks great! As for the digital minutes, that's a heritage from the extreme compressor! Nicolas, hit us with some price. 380k euro for this one??
New Cal 849/1. 21,600 V/h. 123 parts. Thickness of movement: 1.85mm. Diameter of movement: 20.80mm. Diameter of case: 39mm. Thickness of watch: 4.05mm. Power reserve: 35 hours. WR to 5 Bar. Available only in Pt.; solid case back. Cheers, pplater.
The MUT is a beauty and the "rendez-vous" is such a nice and interesting watch watch, with its presentation, title and complication. (too bad diamonds are there, as usual on lady's watch)
Pity it is not transparent caseback (as in the VC 1955). Wondering will there be possibly of boutique edition for the Jubilee pieces, similar to the 80th Anniversary of Reverso. Perhaps you can kindly help us probe a bit ;p Thanks Melvin
Off to SIHH in a few hours,a lot to say but will report my feelings when back. Lots of hits, new GYro3,ultrathin duo, triple calendar,UTT.....all winners. I think that you should add that there is a 4th family: Duometre ,with the UTT (even if presented befo...
see the new MUT 39mm for some reason the picture does not open???!!!! I really like the Duo Metre UTT I wish I could see it in the flesh as on the picture the blue looks a bit wishy washy:) anyhow the layout works well for my taste. Not so sure about the ...
Dear Nico Thank you. For your quick overview of the new collection. There are some pieces rhat look very promising. The PT MUT has a very nice dial, in the pics ive seen, at least. The new gyro lll is to die for. WOW. It seems the finish of the case and a...
1) The Tourbillon Cylindrique Quantieme Perpetuel looks absolutey stunning but unfortunately not within my pay scale :( 2) The Master Calendar which I really like and would love to see in the flesh. Thanks Nicolas for the prompt photos. :)
As for the other products, one strong point is that JLC worked a lot on some small details, which are important. One example: The cases. The MGT for example has a totally new case which is close to the Duometre, which, I think, is a compliment. More to co...
in my mind or on hold.."petit a petit l'oiseau fait son nid":):) Looking forward to see you back Down Under. The trip was great apart from a bloody sciatica which I contracted a week before going north... Cheers, Francois
Many thanks for the (usual) terrific reporting on all things JLC. The new offerings are, as usual, fantastic. Truly a case of the "watchmaker's watchmaker" flexing its muscles and showcasing its talents. No doubt I'll appreciate each piece more as I take ...
Thanks for this overview Nicolas, it helps waiting ;) - I like the MGT Tourbillon and its dial layout, more than one of the Gyros which dial's "step" wasn't looking a nice as this one. I like all the indexes and I special appreciate this 12 o'clock sub-di...
So, yes, you will have the opportunity to see these watches, quite soon, I think. As for the Duometre UTT, that is a common target of us, my friend. I too, am thinking ( storglmy thinking, I must say ) about it. Best, Nicolas
It is amazing each year again what the Manufacture is able to do within that time. Especially the Gyrotourbillon 3 looks fantastic at first glance. But even the new Rendez Vous is not bad at all. Looking forward to pearn more about the novelties :-) Best,...
Yes, I had the opportunity to take some amazing shots of the Rndez Vous Celestial, the dial is ... Envouting! From the simplest to the most complicated, there is a watch for everybody, in this collection. Best, Nicolas
...for exposing us to an amazingly eclectic group of watches. Of course the one that is singing to me an aria of desire is the Deep Sea Chronograph in ceramic. The only thing I worry about is the size at 44mm, perhaps a bit too large. It is a watch that I...
From very different people! When I was told that this was a 44 mm case, I coudn't beleive it, and had to try it. It wears like a 42 mm watch. A lot has to be said on this Deep Sea Chrono. Stay tuned! Best, Nicolas
Dear Nicolas, Thank you for the pictures and great report. I can't wait to read your detailed analysis of the collection and if possible, 'on the wrist pictures'. A questions to you and the community: I tried to find out more about the caliber of the MUT ...
...why the gaping hole between the day and month windows? I have to scan the whole dial for date info! I thought the earlier execution was less scattered. Best, Ken in NYC
The last 5 years or so they have released so many models, in so many different areas, I can't do that anymore. This isn't a bad thing, but just my feeling.
A past where JLC was wealthy. Oppposed to a Past when the Quartz threatened horology, and not only JLC, by the way. Can you keep track of all the Memovoxes or Reversos which were produced ? I can't. Same for models like the Futurematics, or Powermatic, or...
Two JLC watches are amongst my SIHH selection: the Master Calendar for its very classic style and the Ultra-Thin Duoface. They will be blockbusters for JLC I think. Fx
... was told by the boutique manager yesterday, the SIHH 2013 launch will be on 2nd week of March. i have marked my diary already, just can't wait it any longer! stefan
I LOVE the front, 1930's style face. However, the back side has the "Night/Day" printing, which really bugs me, since they should be "AM/PM," due to the positioning of the 24-hour hand running from 24-to-12 on the left side and 12-to-24 on the right side....
I think Dean has a good point. Dean, I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty to expand. The sub-dial on the back has one hand, and the dial shows 12 at the top and 24 at the bottom. Presumably the hand rotates once in 24 hours - 24 indicating midnight...
