I recently got this beauty:
I find one issue that bothers me a little when I use the chronograph function. The start and the reset of the chrono are perfect, very crisp. However, when I stop (not reset) the chrono, I feel and hear a double click. Actually, I can push it half way in, it click once (I will refer it as "the first click"), but nothing happens functionally. Then, I release the pusher, and push it again, it clicks again (second click), it stops the chrono instantly, as I expected it should be. This makes me think the first click should not exist if it works properly, and I try to study such issue myself.
The following two photos are caught after I start the chrono:
The following two photos are caught after I slightly push the stop button and here first click:
Although the differences on the photos are very suble, the movement of the reset lever can be observed, during the first click.
Here is my understanding of "the extra click issue": After the start being pushed (Yes, I pushed all the way in), part of the reset lever is still in the dent of the column wheel, and the reset lever has not been fully lifted. Then, after the first click, the reset lever get fully lifted, and untill now it is in the proper chrono running position. Then, the second click is what suppose to be when I push to stop the chrono.
Now, may I ask several questions: Does my analysis seems correct? If so, is this common? and, would you consider it as a mulfunction?
I think the push feeling of the chrono is a big part of the enjoyment of owning such piece, I hope I am not nitpicking.
Thanks for the reading!
Cheers!
