Great Report Mike!
This is a very thorough report, I had some concerns and opinions about the recent Villeret Montblanc pieces, and your review helped address most of them.
Here are two of my comments about this watch;
1. In regards to the dial, what do you think of it? The enamel dial is of top enamel quality, but does the dial design appeal to you? I don't find it to be a very classic design.
2. I found the leather covering a metal plate between the watch lugs to be somewhat strange. Do any other companies do this?
Excellent macro shots. The up-close photography of the dials and movement really helped me appreciate the painstaking detail and quality that went into this watch. The quality of the finishing of the movement is faultless.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! And it looks like Montblanc is getting very serious in the watch industry with their partnership with Villeret.

just how difficult it was to make a black grand feu enamel dial since J*D claimed that it took a few years to get the formula right! I can't imagine a SWATCH brand trying to obtain dials from a Richemont subsidiary or vice-versa. Best, Mike

The Villeret Chronograph's RRP is approx the same as the Observatoire. A Voutilainen chronograph would cost twice that of a Villeret Chronograph. By the way an option that I didnot include in my review is MB's willingness to create specialty pieces at the...
